Game night raises $500 for aid

By Milan Eagle Media

It all began with a caring father who had an idea for his kids during the summer.  The result was an over flowing room of people of all ages having fun and raising over $500 for Aid in Milan.  Dave Baldwin’s idea of “kid-preneur”,  for his children Matt and Kenda to create a business with the goal of making money to give to charity resulted in Matt’s Game Night on August 29 at Morning Owl Coffee at 9 W. Main in Milan.

Initial numbers show over $500 was raised for Aid in Milan.  Aid in Milan said, “Thanks for helping Aid in Milan with the Gamer Night fundraiser.  Milan is such a generous community.” There were 32 people participating in a Mario kart tournament.  Patrick was the winner.  They had 9 systems ranging from Atari to xbox one. There were numerous computers throughout the room in various makes and models with hands busy on the keyboards or controls.  Pizza, and refreshments were available for those “working up an appetite”. There was even a tv set up to watch the 9:00 p.m. “Monumental Mysteries” which featured Martha Churchill and the Hack House sugar scandal.

Baldwin would like to thank the sponsors Digital Brewery, Morning Owl Coffee, Hungry Howie, Dantes World of Fix, Game Shop and specifically Sal, Jason, Roland, Ryan and Don.

He said, “I am so proud of my kids, Matt and Kendal, for their hard work putting on this event.”

With such positive feedback he says they plan to do another.
