Give credit where credit is due

Rotary check presentation for Wilson Park pavilion May 2013,

In the December 2015 edition, The Milan Eagle published an article called “A Good Idea Takes Shape” in reference to the new pavilion under construction in Wilson Park. The information provided from town authorities for the article mentioned “generous donations from the community”. The article omitted the important donation the Milan Rotary Club and Rotarians made to the project. In May, 2013 the Milan Rotary Club organized a presentation that included several community organizations. The Milan Rotary Club presented to the City a check of $7500 followed by another $3000 in checks from individual Rotarians present. Rotary donates thousands of dollars to the community every year. I thought, as a Rotarian, community member and Editor of The Milan Eagle, to clarify the facts and remark what great team work and give credit where credit is due.
