The Milan Public Library will be offering a program on cooking “good and cheap” on Wednesday, February 17, from 7-9 p.m. at the Milan Senior/Community Center. Learn more about healthy eating on a budget and sample delicious inspiring recipes from the book Good and Cheap: Eat well on $4/Day by Leanne Brown. According to Brown, “If you can become a more skilled, more conscious cook, then you’ll be able to conjure deliciousness in any kitchen, anytime.”
The program will be led by Mary Donaldson-Morris, MSU Extension Nutrition Instructor and will include hands-on activities and tastings accompanied by a discussion.  Content is also based on the USDA’s“Eating Better on a Budget”tips.
Registered participants will receive a free copy of the book – space is limited (as are books!) so reserve your spot by emailing info [at] milanlibrary [dot] org, by calling the Milan Public Library at 439-1240 or Aid in Milan at 439-8420 by Tuesday, Feb. 16.
This class is sponsored by the Milan Public Library in collaboration with Aid in Milan.   Also in February, Share the Love Returns! Bring in a non-perishable food item (look for a list of needed items on the Library’s web site in early February) and receive a Dove Chocolate or Valentine’s Pencil. All donations go to Aid in Milan. The Library and Aid in Milan are planning other programs on topics of community interest and welcome your ideas!
