Don was born on May 31, 1940 in Tuscola, IL, the son of Carl & Gertrude Seleska. Don passed away from complications of Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinson’s.
He was one of seven children and was raised in Milan, MI. He attended Milan High School and graduated in 1958. He enlisted in the Marine Corp. in 1958 for 4 years and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA and Okinawa, Japan, He was honorably discharged in Nov. 1962.
He married his wife, Joyce in 1964 in Anaheim, CA and they bought a home in Stanton, CA and lived there 30 years and then moved to Orange, CA. He attended 2 years at Orange Coast College for business and worked in banking. His last job was cabinet making at Norwalk-LaMirada School District for 15 years and retired in 2003.
He enjoyed traveling in his motor home, woodworking, water skiing, camping and U of M football. He traveled to Europe and many places in the U.S. with his wife.
Don is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce and daughter Cheryl (Mike), grandchildren, Emily and Grace and son Steve. Also,his brother, Ron and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 sisters, Peg, Patsy, Janet, Sonnie and Phyllis.
