Alan N. (Lanny) Zeluff II, age 67, of Maybee, MI passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016. He was born June 20, 1949 in Ann Arbor, MI to Alan N. and Cliffelda (Lamkin) Zeluff. After graduating from Milan High School in 1967, Lanny served his country for two years in the U.S. Air Force. Upon honorable discharge from the military, he attended Eastern Michigan University and Washtenaw Community College. Lanny managed the Milan branch of Monroe Bank & Trust until 1984. A member of Operating Engineers Local 324, he retired as a crusher operator from Stoneco. Lanny owned a motorhome and loved to travel, visiting 49 of the 50 States; most recently, Maine and the Florida Keys. He was a “tech guru” and especially enjoyed videography, capturing many important family memories. Lanny enjoyed woodworking and built his granddaughter a playhouse and “letter box”. He also built birdhouses from barn wood collected at his parents’ Centennial Farm in York Township, MI. Above all, Lanny was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose kind and gentle nature will never be forgotten.
Lanny is survived by his mother, Cliffelda; loving wife of 37 years, Anna Gail Zeluff; son, Jeremie (Jen) Schneider; grandchildren, Alexis Schneider and Nick and Nate Walker; sisters, Mary (Douglas) Chandler and Anne (Alan) Brown; mother in-law, Mae Stacy; many brothers and sisters in-law; many nieces and nephews; and canine companions, Olly and Max. He was preceded in death by his father in 2004.
A funeral service concluding with Military Honors was held at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe on Friday, October 7, 2016.
