Markgraff, Marvin J

Age 83, died Tuesday evening, April 4, 2017 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 9, 1933 in Monroe, Michigan to Dennis and Frances (Risch) Markgraff. On October 1, 1960 he married Shirley Jean Borso in Milan and she survives.
Marvin was a lifelong resident of Milan, graduating from Milan High School in 1952. He was an ardent supporter of Milan basketball, following every game since the 1950’s. He spent his life working three separate farms in Milan and retired from Ford Motor Company. Marvin was a long time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and presently was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Saline. He also enjoyed going to antique tractor toy shows, flea markets and spending time with family.
Besides his wife Shirley, he is survived by his mother, Frances, daughters: Theresa (Everett) Munsell, Renee Markgraff, Connie Harrison, grandsons: Nicholas (Kelli) Munsell, Benjamin (Samantha) Munsell, and Alex Harrison, great granddaughters: Hailey, Hanna, Emmy, and Ava Munsell, brother, Robert Markgraff, sisters, Mary Ann (Marvin) Bondie and Dorothy (Dean) Lietzau, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis, son, Gregory Markgaff, grandson, Eric Harrison, great-grandson Nathan Munsell and a sister-in-law, Christine Markgraff.
Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Friday, April 7th from 4-8pm where a rosary will be recited at 7:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Saline where he will lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service, with burial following at Marble Park Cemetery, Milan. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s Catholic Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
