Andy Douglas | City council candidate

Andy Douglas

Milan is on the threshold of changes. I’m a believer in the people and families of Milan. I believe that our children and our citizens are capable of great things and that it’s the job of the city council and all of city government to make it easier to do those great things, to be the successes we are driven to be. From our historic downtown to the surrounding farms and homes, we are the ones who can make Milan what we want our children to remember as their hometown. I was born and raised in Leavenworth, Kansas. It’s a prison town too. I know what it feels like to be a townie but I also understand the integral relationship between a small town and the area it serves. I graduated from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. I am currently employed as an instructor at Wayne County Community College. I’ve been teaching there since 2002. I’m also involved in the Milan Area Boy Scouts and with my church. I hope to be able to bring my skills and experience to help Milan emerge from the other side of the coming changes as the hometown our kids return to and remember.
