Hanna Cook has been chosen as the November Female Athlete of the Month for Dundee High School. The 17 year old senior represents the Vikings on the swim team. She states that the reason she chose swimming is that once she started at the age of seven, she loved it and has continued swimming ever since.
Hanna has a 3.4 GPA, and her favorite subject in school is English. It is her favorite subject because she enjoys writing.
Hanna lives at home with her mom; her dad; her sister, Jenna and a brother, DJ. She also has two older sisters away at college. The Michigan Wolverines are her favorite team as well as her favorite university. She is a stalwart fan and states that she wears their swim cap every day at practice.
Hanna plans on attending college and majoring in Social Work. Although she loves swimming she will not be participating in that sport in college. With her mind set on her grades and her future, she states, “I want to focus on my education in college.”
When asked if she has any advice for other students planning on participating in school sports, Hanna stated, “Make sure you enjoy it and put your whole heart into it. Work hard and you will be rewarded.”
The Girl’s Swim Team Coach, Coach Eubanks, had this to say about Hanna.
“Hanna is a hard worker that has become a great leader for us this year!”
