Sixteen year old Parker Hovey represents the Vikings on their Cross Country team. He has also been selected to represent Dundee Schools as their Male Athlete of the Month for November. He states that the reason he chose cross country is that he “wanted to try something new”. He also participates in Track and Field for the Vikings.
As a junior at Dundee High School, Parker’s favorite subject is English because he loves to write short stories. He lives with his mother, Heather; his father, Doug; and his brother, Paxton.
Parker’s favorite university is Central Michigan and his favorite team is the Michigan Wolverines. He plans on attending college and continuing to run while he furthers his education and pursues his writing career.
When asked what advice he would give to other students who might be trying to decide whether or not to participate in school sports he stated, “You will not regret joining cross country.” Coach Ringbloom stated that “Parker is the ultimate teammate that pushes everyone on his team to do their best.”
