State Representative, Tim Walberg, (R-Blissfield) designated Milan High School student, Cole Dennison for the month of October and Josiah Livingston for the month of November as students of the month, who serve as role models to peers, model effective study habits and participate in extra-curricular activities.
Students are nominated by various staff members who reach a consensus.
Dennison was nominated by theatre manager, Amanda Kaiser, for his work managing and running the lighting system in the school theatre.  Kaiser said he learns everything he needs to know and responds quickly to every request, when a light tech is needed
Kaiser said, while many kids can do a good job what separates Cole is his level of maturity and professionalism, as it’s unparalleled.  She said Cole is a big part of what helps to make everything run smoothly and efficiently in the theatre.
Cole carries a 3.619 GPA and science teacher, Brad Baden, said of Cole, “He is an excellent candidate.”
November’s pick, Josiah Livingston comes as highly recommended.  Adam Gilles, health and physical education teacher and varsity baseball coach speaks highly of Josiah.  He said, “Josiah is a model student athlete at Milan High School, who has a tremendous work ethic.”
He also has an impressive GPA of 3.897.
The praise doesn’t end there.  Matt Walline, AP history teacher, speaking of Livingston said the young man is enthusiastic and dedicated. Walline added, “When taking on a task he puts heart and soul into it and success is the outcome.”
