Ben Pyle was born in October 1999 at the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor.

Ben is the second of three boys born to Barry and Natalie Pyle, both from Fort Wayne, Indiana. The family resides in Ypsilanti and attends Milan as a school of choice.

Ben comes from a line of male athletes, his father having played basketball and older brother Nate (22) being a cross-country runner. He did not begin playing football until his freshman year in high school but has remained a strong lineman for the Milan team throughout his high school career. His younger brother Noah is also a Milan football player.

Ben has been a strong member of the Milan Wrestling Team for the past four years and is currently a Captain for the team. Last year he had to sit out the season due to a broken leg but he well on his way to making up for it this year. He medaled at the Danville tournament as an undefeated heavyweight and took third place in the Ypsilanti tournament. He currently has an 8-2 record for the season. Of his high school sports he says, “I started (both) these sports freshman year. I was learning and naturally wasn’t the best and didn’t know a lot…I learned the value of hard work and being willing to learn from others. I believe these lessons will continue to help me as I pursue a career as an officer in the army.

Ben is also a very talented and strong tenor vocalist with the Milan High School Choir in both concert choir and chamber choirs throughout all four years of high school. He says he became interested in singing at church while singing along with family and friends. In chamber choir the vocalists are required to audition for a spot and they are featured in different events throughout the high school year. Both high school choirs, along with the middle school choir recently performed in the Winter Choir Concert at the Dennis McComb Center for the Performing Arts, Milan High School.

Ben carries a 4.048 GPA studying AP Literature, AP Statistics, AP Calculus, AP Physics, Criminology, Concert Choir and Chamber Choir.

He is a boy scout who two years ago completed a 100-mile hiking and backpacking trek through the mountains of New Mexico. His academic abilities combined with his athletic abilities will come in handy in the armed forces.

He has already received a National ROTC scholarship with full-ride tuition from the US Army and plans to attend West Point studying history and math with the ultimate goal of being a career Army Officer. His second option is Indiana University.
