Paddock’s family fun night warms the heart

By Joyce Ervin

The Paddock Elementary School’s Parent Teachers Organization held a Family Fun Night for students and their parents with a Grinch theme based on the book, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, written by Dr. Seuss.

Everything was Grinch down to the punch sporting the famous Grinch-green that was served with hot dogs, chips and cookies for dinner.

Students visited six different stations that featured the beloved character.  Ornaments and masks were made, science experiments conducted, guessing games were played and a D.J. entertained for dancing in the gymnasium, where a game of decorate and undecorate a Christmas tree was played.  A photo session drop scene was available for picture taking.

Principal Sean Desarbo gathered students in the library and read the story, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” to them with lots of expression and animation.

Students were asked to bring a non-perishable food to the school on that special night and throughout the previous week to be given to Milan Rotary Club’s food drive for Aid in Milan.  It was said donating helped the students’ hearts grow three sizes.
