The final call

Chief Todd Opperman.

By permission of the Dundee Police Dept.

Yesterday we said our final goodbye to our brother, friend and leader Dundee Police Chief Todd Opperman at his funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

It was overwhelming to see over 200 officers from police departments around Michigan and N.W. Ohio, fire fighters and community leaders come together to celebrate his life and work.

Chief Opperman dedicated his life to serving others. For him, it was more than a badge, it was his life. We shall never forget his professionalism and dedication

Fr. Brian Chabala, a friend of the Opperman/Welch family led the service assisted by OLMC Pastor Fr. Lacuesta and Central Catholic High School leader and priest Fr., Matt Rader

Military-style honors were provided by the Michigan Sheriff and Municipal Memorial Assistance Response Team (SMMART) Black Swamp Pipe and Drum Corp. were there to pay tribute through their incredible music.

Rest in peace, Chief Todd Opperman. Your shift is over. We have the watch now.

End of Watch: 12.18.2017
