Milan resident, Jodie Franklin, was recently elected president of the Ann Arbor Area Board of Realtors.  A top seller in the Milan realty market for many years, as well as, surrounding communities, Franklin now finds herself housed as a principal broker in her new office at the Workhorse Realty located at 334 County Street.
With credentials that are required for the position she will fulfill, the duties of president that include presiding over all Board of Director and General Membership Meetings, represent the Ann Arbor Area Board of Realtors (AAABOR) at State and National meeting and Conventions, and serve as a delegate for the Michigan Realtors. The President must work in the best interest of the entire membership, have a high level of professionalism, and perform ethically and with integrity.
Franklin doesn’t only sell real estate, she sets goals and brings them to fruition.  For years, she has personally hosted a fundraiser for Michigan Ability Partners that helps fight homelessness of veterans.  She said the fundraisers have been successful, but she can’t wait to see what she can do with a large group like the AAABOR.
Also on her agenda, are efforts to bring her skills to Milan.  She said there is a wealth of knowledge and ideas from people around the state that can help if we reach out.  Franklin said she is full of ideas after attending the Michigan Realtors Leadership Academy and the National Realtors Leadership Summit last year.
Keeping with her goal to increase community involvement, she said, we have done a few things here and there, but I would like us to offer more outreach days, where Realtors are physically going out and helping organizations.  Such as, Workhorse Realty participating in the recent Let’s Chill Winterfest.
Franklin said she wants to have, “involvement with the Ann Arbor membership, but wants to collaborate more with neighboring boards, not only here at home, but across the state and nationwide.”
Franklin said each year the spring market starts earlier, so now is a good time to list, also considering Milan real estate values continue to increase. For your real estate needs, contact Franklin at Workhorse Realty, 334 County Street or call 734-223-1310.
