School Bomb Threats

Press release

Today, the Milan Police Department and the FBI, after a joint investigation, identified a 14-year old, former Milan Area Schools student, suspected in crime(s) associated with the bomb threats at Milan Area Schools, which occurred earlier this week.
The investigation revealed that the threats were a hoax, and no bomb-making materials were found, or indicated, during the investigation. This investigation is now complete.
“It is impossible to overstate the value of our years-long partnership with the FBI, nor their expertise and assistance they provided,” said Don Tillery, Police Chief of Milan, Michigan.
“I am also very proud of the Milan Police Department, our officers, dispatchers, and staff worked expertly and diligently to bring this incident to a timely and appropriate conclusion,” said Tillery.
Due to the minor status of the suspect, no further information will be released at this time. This matter, after documentation is complete, will be forwarded to the Monroe County Prosecutors office for review.
