The Board passed the attached resolution promoting Public Education.  This initiative is being lead by the AASA (American Association of School Administrators) #PublicSchoolsWeek.  We are proud as a district to have joined the many districts from around the nation who have passed a resolution supporting this.
Additionally, April is Child Abuse and Prevention Month in Monroe County.  Our district plans on creating public awareness about this with Pinwheels for Prevention Campaign in the Village Triangle on Thursday, April 12 at 8:30 a.m. where our GSRP students will once again help us plant pinwheels in the ground to advocate an end to child abuse and neglect.
The Board of Education approved the 4th grade Field Trip request to travel to the Toledo Zoo on June 8.
The Board of Education approved the purchase of new High School accounting curriculum materials.
The Board of Education officially approved the resignation of Technology Director Travis Timar, effective March 9th.
Preventative maintenance work on the HS Chillers (large AC units) was approved last night.  Additionally, the Board approved the purchase of a new Raptor Visitor Management System.
A discussion was held regarding the HS outdoor Clock tower repair.  The district will check with the company about the rental price of the boom lift and the length of the warranty.
The Board of Education is interested in having this work done now, rather than later as it is within our District Strategic Plan.  The work completed on this would include illuminating the “arms” of the clock and maintaining the clock with atomic time, which would be maintenance free.
