Milan High School junior Caitlin Trout has been chosen as the April Student of the Month.  The MHS staff chose Trout based off of the criteria set by Congressman Tim Walberg, whose program recognizes students who serve their school and community through their dedication to modeling exemplary characteristics in both the classroom and extracurriculars.
Trout is an honors student who manages a rigorous class schedule, including two AP classes and an online German class.  She loves learning new things and expanding her knowledge. She said that her favorite part about high school is “being introduced to a variety of subjects”
In addition to her dedication to academics, Trout spends much of her time playing in the band and helping the program grow.  She is the president of Tri-M Music Honor Society, for which she plans fundraisers and finds ways to integrate the band into the community.  She mainly plays the Clarinet but dabbles in other instruments. Music is Trout’s passion and she said it is one of the ways she expresses herself.
Trout currently plans on attending Grand Valley State University once she graduates, and she is still exploring which career path she will follow.
Trout is an exceptional student who demonstrates her eagerness to learn and her honorable character in everything she does.
