McKenzie Zanger who has been selected as the Dundee Community Schools Female Athlete of the Month is in the eleventh grade at Dundee High School.
McKenzie’s favorite team is the University of Michigan Wolverines and she closely follows both their football and basketball teams. She currently plays basketball and volleyball for the Dundee Vikings. She states that she plays both because, “they both are intense sports and I love intensity”.
In school, McKenzie carries a 3.5 GPA. Her favorite subjects are Science and English. She says Mrs. Robson is her favorite teacher, “because she’s always the teacher I can go to if I don’t understand something and helps me understand it better. She is also a super cool and fun teacher.”
Once she completes her education at Dundee High School, McKenzie plans to attend the University of Michigan. Although she would like to continue with her sports in college, McKenzie states, “ It would be cool to play a sport in college, but I want to focus on school to become a dental hygienist.”
She lives with her parents, Tim and Amy Zanger, and states that, “my biggest influence is my family. They encourage me and support me in any situation.”
McKenzie says, “All of my coaches have influenced me in some way, but Coach Josh Salley has influenced me the most because he pushes me to do my best and always helps me improve my game.”
