The Milan Girls Swim and Dive team celebrated senior night on October 16 in two special ways: taking down Grosse Ile by a score of 121-65 and raising over $925 for the Breast Cancer Foundation in a special fundraising opportunity put on by the 10 seniors.
The win over Grosse Ile put Milan at 8-2 on the year and 2-0 in the Huron League. The seniors helped lead the way to the win.
The winners included:
Medley Relay of Jocelyn Hobbs, Senior Lia Iverson, Senior Cassidy Gillay and Senior Sophie Morelock.
Diving was taken by Senior and School Record Holder Mackenzie Crawford.
Senior Sophie Morelock added a win in the 100 back
The 200 Free Relay was taken by Seniors Brooke Dobrzanski and Emma Frame, along with Hailey Brady and Lizzy Mckenna
The 400 Free Relay was taken by Seniors Gillay, Dobrzanski and Morelock with Junior Lizzy McKenna serving as the youngster in the group.
Seniors also swimming well were Hannah Sivils, Hannah Dennes, Danielle Trolian, and Naomi Rossow.
This senior class has been incredible in the pool, on the boards and in the classroom. They have helped Milan win 3 straight Huron League Titles and have us on the verge of winning a 4th on Saturday, November 2 when the championships are hosted at Milan. In their time at Milan the girls team have only lost a total of 8 dual meets and have never lost to a team ranked lower than 8th in the State. They are a truly great group of young ladies who all have bright futures.
