homecoming heroes

The Milan Big Reds went into the game Friday Night expecting a fairly easy game, they were not disappointed. With solid coverage on the line for support Milan’s Tristan Hines hit the ground running on a quarterback keep and scored a touchdown on the opening drive for the Big Reds right after Jet Isaac intercepted the ball and ran for 20 yards. With less than three minutes left on the clock in the first quarter Hines threw from the Bears 20 yard line to Evan Furtneym who runs over half the field, Milan 14, Bears 0.
Monroe Jefferson seemed to struggle the entire game with errors and penalties while the Big Reds seemed to move without struggle, play after play. While most of the season has seen Tristen Hines as a strong runner, tonight he shared the spotlight with several other strong Milan players. Top runs or scores were had by Ethan Griffin, Evan Furtney, Jett Isaacs and Kendrick McBride. McBride enjoyed both an interception and a touchdown before the half. Going into halftime Milan was leading 31-0.
Breaking into the second half McBride grabbed a quick pass from Hines and scored within 2 minutes of the opening kick to complete a 70 yard drive. The Bears were finally able to answer back with a score after Milan put in their B team but the Big Reds one upped them adding another 7 to the board for a game ending 38-7 score. Milan is now looking at 6-0 for the current season and prepares to take on New Boston Huron for the next challenge.
