Eternity Matters: Honor God with our hearts

By Norma Shull Smith

Not everyone believes in the God of the Bible and it truly breaks my heart.  I realize that if we were raised in a different culture, we would be raised to believe the way that culture believes.  If you were raised Hindu, that is what you would believe, and the list could go on naming another 4,200 beliefs, for that is how many estimated religions there are in the world and believe me, out of the 4,200 only a hand full believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and that God is triune and created the world.
And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote”. Isaiah 29: 13 NLT
Perhaps each of us should do a self-analysis often. Are we mechanical? Do we do what we do out of habit or out of routine? Do we do this because it was what we were taught? OR, do we honor HIM from our hearts, from our souls because we have met HIM in a personal way? Eternity Matters

“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.”  Romans 1:20
“They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are  doing right.  And this is the message I proclaim—that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life.”  Romans 2:15-16
