Male Athlete of the Month: Matthew Osborn

Matthew Osborn, was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on August 9, 2001.He started attending Milan Area Schools in first grade. He is now a senior at MHS. Matthew’s parents, Sandy and Joel Osborn, moved their family, Matthew and older sister Danielle, to Milan when he was in the seventh grade.
Starting from a young age. Matthew has been interested in sports. He first started playing soccer when he was three years old and has played it ever since. For the last four years, he’s played on the Milan High School Soccer Team and the Storm Travel Team. He also played baseball for four years.
Matthew’s favorite soccer position is midfield.. Some of Matthew’s highlights are: Winning the Canton Cup with Ann Arbor United Soccer Club, becoming the WideWorld Sports League Indoor Soccer Champions in 2015 with the Flying Squirrels, beating Chelsea in a last minute comeback with the Storm Travel Team, attending Findley Soccer Camp with the Milan High School Soccer Team, scoring his first goal against Adrian freshman year, and leading the Varsity team in assists his junior year.
He said, “this year, I was coached by Head Coach, Victor Plasse and Assistant Coach, Scott Peterson. During the season, I enjoyed spending time with the team; especially the seniors who I’ve grown close with over the past four years”.
Last spring, Matthew was inducted into the National Honor Society. and he is a Milan Scholar Athlete and has a cumulative GPA of 3.98.
After Graduation, Matthew plans to study Engineering at Michigan State University or University of Toledo.
