Assistant Superintendent of schools, Peter Kudlak, offered congratulatory remarks at the 2013 Adult Education Commencement telling the graduates they had reached a milestone in life.  He praised the choice they made to work hard and succeed.

Other speakers included Director Connie Cox, past graduate Ciarra Brannan, counselor Trina Gale and social science teacher Malissa Smith. Lindsey Truskowski of Baker College was pleased to present two alternative graduates and two adult graduates with half-tuition to the college for two years.  Tawana Lee, Edgar Sierra, Amber Delong and Nathaneal Blackburn were recipients.

Alex Ellul, former 2010 Milan High School graduate, provided the music on piano for the evening.  He selected “Outside the Prince’s Door” by Edward MacDowell and the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance”.  Each graduate received their diploma and a red carnation before moving their tassels from left to right completing the ceremony.

A reception was held in the school cafeteria where confections and orange punch donated by McDonald’s of Milan was enjoyed.  Families took pictures and offered congratulations to their graduates.
