Doubles partners playing in top form

Milan Boys Tennis

Doubles partners Sean Doran and Bennett Caputo are posting some pretty good numbers in matches this year for Milan Tennis. According to Coach Nate Rodriguez, on Sept 17th against Airport, here at home the boys “won a closely contested three set match in a tiebreaker (6-3) (3-6) (7-6*7-3).  At Lincoln on the 19th the doubles partners posted  (6-2)(4-6)(6-3), showing again that in doubles for Milan they are some of the best. Then on the 26th when facing Jake Sorter and Alex Sertage from SMCC the doubles partners couldn’t seem to put the numbers together.  Rodriguez was encouraging to the young men after the loss in the first set and expressed his belief that they would bounce back.

Brothers Christian and Isaac Miller hold the number one and number two spots respectively, for singles play and Christian is also the team captain this year.  Both brothers easily won their matches on the 17th but the match between Isaac and his opponent on the 19th at Lincoln was called for shoulder pain to Isaac in the second set.

The match up between Milan and Gross Ile on the 24th and then again with SMCC on the 26th did not turn out as well as expected so the team is presently at 3-4 but Coach Nate Rodriguez is expecting the team to be back to posting positive results again in the Huron League Tournament on Octber 3, 2013.
