If you paid any attention at all to Milan Varsity football this year I am about to scramble your brain a little.  Would you believe that Chad Hall, #52, a powerhouse defensive lineman for Milan has only played football for two years?  Yes, I said two years and this kid was just named to the ALL-REGION DEFENSIVE TEAM along with C J Duffiney, Austin Hoover and Josh Colville all from Milan. Chad also posted 65 tackles for the Milan Big Reds this season.

Chad had previously wanted to play football but he had already been playing and was committed to basketball and his family really could not afford for him to play more than one sport at that time. Between the money and not feeling like he could dedicate the time needed Chad just never had given football a fair shot until Coach Hoskins came along.  Basketball had gotten boring and Chad decided to try something new for a change.  Milan says “THANK YOU CHAD”

Academically Chad is an A/B student but in the last year he has slipped a C in there a time or two.  He claims to have been working harder at getting that grade back up there to where it should be.  His other classes are going pretty good so he is happy with his grades overall.

Chad still plays hobby basketball and quite a bit of backyard football but another favorite is video gaming, specifically Call of Duty.  He says the newest release will probably become his favorite because it is pretty great.

In addition to sports and video games Chad loves to hunt and fish, specifically fishing for walleye and salmon. He has recently been wader fishing more than fishing from a boat. He shot his first deer about the time he turned thirteen and it was a nice little 6 point buck.

Chad has one sister, Celeste Hall, age 11 who attends Milan Middle School.  His mother Dee is presently going to college to become a Social Worker and his dad Jeremy is a construction worker.  If you were at the football game to honor Milan veterans you would have seen that Chad’s family is also quite family oriented, with a number of veterans and committed to honoring and remembering those who served our country.

One thing most people might not know about Chad is that he is a natural athlete and last year he tried Shot Put and Discus in Track and Field.  He was pretty successful at it and so he has decided he will probably be doing them again this year. It is pretty amazing to read about Chad racking up statistics in football this year and then find out it is only his second year to ever play organized football.  Imagine where the team would have been statistically has Chad Hall been playing in his 4th year instead of his 2nd as a senior in High School.  Chad Hall, Milan salutes you and appreciates all hits you took and those you handed out during the 2013 football season for the Huron League Champions.
