Nominations for council recognition night due March 31

The Youth Council is going to be hosting a Youth Recognition Night for Milan’s Youth. The purpose of the event is to recognize and reward positive behavior of youth in grades k-8 or age equivalent. Unlike the Youth of the Year award, we aren’t looking for the greatest kid in Milan or those who shoveled 400 driveways and saved a family from a fire (exaggeration). Though, they certainly need to be recognized. We want to recognize all deeds, no matter how small to encourage this behavior into the future.
The Youth Council has partnered with the school system in order to reach youth within the schools. However, the event is for all of Milan’s youth in the 48160 zip code or attending a Milan Area School. I am wondering if any businesses in town would be willing to keep applications in their stores so those outside of the Milan Area Schools can nominate youth.
The nominations are due March 31st and can be dropped off at city hall, the police station, and any Milan Area Schools office. I would not be opposed to a business collecting some either. The event is April 22nd at 6:30pm in the Milan Middle School Auditorium.
