FOOD DRIVE

American 1 Credit Union and Kroger worked together to help collect nearly one ton of food to benefit Aid in Milan (AIM) and Food Gatherers. The food drive took place April 8-10. In total 1,934 pounds of food was donated by Milan area residents. Both, American 1 and Kroger served as collection points with each organization donating $1,000 to benefit AIM and Food Gatherers. An additional $160 in monetary donations was given to the organizations during the food drive.
“We thank our Kroger customers for their generosity and contributions toward this highly successful Aid in Milan food drive, which will help ensure hungry families and senior citizens have nutritious food and critical personal care supplies,” said Rachel Hurst, consumer affairs manager, The Kroger Co. of Michigan. “Aid in Milan helps improve the quality of life for many community residents and Kroger was proud to team up with American 1 Credit Union to assist this organization with its ongoing efforts.”
“The results far exceeded our expectations for the food drive and we thank our partner, Kroger, the Aid in Milan volunteers, and everyone in the community who was able to contribute,” said Liz Niles, Community Relations Manager for American 1 Credit Union. “When you work together in your community, great things happen. “We’re proud to be a part of such a caring community.”
