Jakob Walther was born at St. Joe Hospital and raised here in Milan all of his life. His parents are Robert and Tina Walther. He has 5 sisters, Heather, Kristen, Magdelene, Kate, and Delaney ranging from ages twenty to age forty-eight. He is the only boy and the youngest at age seventeen.
His mom played basketball for a short time in South Carolina and his father played football at Mattoon High School in Illinois.  He played offensive line, right guard and was part of the state championship team during his senior year.
Jakob went to Montessori school and then transferred to Milan shortly thereafter. He has played soccer for almost twelve years and dreams of one day being a soccer star.  He played football for Milan Youth League until 6th grade when he chose to quit and focus more of his attention to soccer.
As an MHS senior Jakob is part of the Senior wing taking Government, Math and Science classes with electives of Botany, General Business and Intro to Engineering.
Earlier this year he was approached by Coach Hoskins in the sports rotunda at school and asked, “when are you going to come and take some kicks?” The punt kicker for MHS had graduated last year leaving an open spot and that is how Jakob became part of the varsity football program as the starting kicker during his senior year. He now plays for the Milan soccer team, is the kicker on the football team and plays travel soccer year-round for Liverpool International FC Academy of America.
Jakob is not yet sure where he will be attending college but he has an interest in Saginaw Valley College or Tiffin University, both of which have a very good soccer program in place.
He plans to study either nursing or astronomy, or maybe something in between those two widely separated and varying careers. At any note, he plans to continue his soccer career indefinitely and holds to the dream of one day being a soccer star.
