The public is invited to help Aid in Milan celebrate their 40th Anniversary with an Open house on Sunday, October 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the center located 89 W. Main Street.
Program director, Amy Doyle, said the celebration serves as a way to give thanks to the community that has supported the institution over these many years.
Visitors will be treated to slices of birthday cake, and cider and donuts donated by Wiard’s Orchard and County Fair will be served.
Tours of the building are planned and visitors will doubtless see and learn about the many programs offered to include new programs, such as a recent reorganizing of the food pantry recently completed, since the non-profit organization was founded in 1976.
Many organizations, churches and individuals support Aid in Milan and contribute to their programs that are designed to help in many ways whether it means school supplies for children, warm coats and blankets for winter or weekly food supplies and home-delivered meals so no one goes hungry.
Doyle said, “Aid in Milan helps low-income residents who are facing challenges with employment, hunger, housing, utilities and other day-to-day concerns.”
