Milan pays tribute to American heroes on Veterans Day

By Milan Eagle Media

Milan residents, bundled in jackets and mittens, came out to Wilson Park the evening of November 11 and eagerly gathered in front of the Wall of Honor.
Mayor Michael Armitage, Master of Ceremonies, welcomed everyone to the annual Veteran’s Day Celebration to honor veterans who made self-sacrifices to serve our country.
Honor Guard of the Knights of Columbus and the Earl Gladfelter Post 268 American Legion Honor Guard presented the Flag and Fr. Vincent VanDoan gave the Opening Prayer. Gary Bordeau raised the Flag of the United States and the National Anthem and Pledge to the Flag was lead by American Heritage Girls Troop MI 2407. Special thanks to Doug Gilson and the Backstreet CruZers for the Songs of the Armed Forces and providing the sound for the event and Tom Dupuis for reading the names of the 10 veterans engraved on the Wall in 2016.
It was a nice turnout to give honor and tribute to our Milan Veterans.
