Rylee Parry, a 12th grader at Dundee High School is participating in both swimming and track. However, her main focus and greater love is her swimming. Her parents and teachers are glad she is participating in extracurricular activities, including being captain of the swim and track teams, coaching the Dundee Dragons swim team, volunteering at the senior center. In addition, she has received a sportsmanship award during 4 years.
Rylee has a GPA of 3.53 and her favorite subject in school is Physics. She states it is her favorite because, “It puts math and science together explaining how things work the way they do”. Upon graduation she plans to attend Toledo University and pursue a degree in medicine with an ultimate goal of becoming a physician’s assistant.
At home, Rylee lives with her parents, Carl and Heather, two sisters and an older cousin. They tell her, “You have to enjoy what you are doing. Don’t go for the money, go for being happy. If you wake up each day and hate what you are doing, don’t do it.”
As for sports, Rylee’s favorite team is the Toledo Rockets but she enjoys watching all sports. Her advice to other students trying to decide if they want to participate in a sport is once you decide to do it, “keep working hard because it takes a lot of effort to get what you want”.
