We at the Milan Eagle hope all in our community are doing well during this crisis. We will all get through this together. In order to keep people safe and distanced we did not produce a Milan Eagle newspaper for April. Further months have not been determined as we want to adhere to state guidelines and protect the community. Age 81, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at home. He was born October 1, 1936 in Monroe, Michigan to Dennis and Frances (Risch) Markgraff. Bob graduated from Milan High School in 1954 and at a young age helped work on the family farm. On June 16, 1956 he married Christine Risner in Manchester and she preceded him in death on April 20, 2014. Bob worked at Ford Motor Company Ypsilanti Plant for 44 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of FFA, Loyal Order of the Moose, and Eagles.
He is survived by his mother Frances, three children, Robert (Susan) Markgraff Jr. of Stockbridge, Cyndi (David) Clark of Ann Arbor, Craig of Sarasota, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Ann (Marvin) Bondie of Milan and Dorothy (Dean) Lietzau of Lacey, WA, sister-in-law, Shirley Markgraff of Milan, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his father, Dennis and brother, Marvin.
Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Sunday December 3rd from 1:00-4:00pm. where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Monday at 11am where he will lie in state beginning at 10am. Contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
