Both youth and high school wrestler’s from Milan made a good showing at the MYWA Downriver tournament the last weekend of February.
High school students placed as follows: Freshman, Mitchell Doom-First Place in 143 lb weight class, Sophomore, Jared Smith-Second Place in 192 lb. weight class, Senior, Trace Lindeman-Third place in 155-163 lb. weight class and Sophomore, Dyllan Jones-Fourth place in 155-163 lb weight class.
Long time friends, Jones and Lindeman are in the same weight class and had to wrestle each other for their final placement. The match was a little bit brutal for those Milan fans who were watching.
Lindeman had a few more folks in his corner that were Milan youth wrestlers shouting moves for him to use against Jones. It was definitely a challenging match up for both of the wrestlers.
