Obituary: Richards, Jack D. “Mr. Jack”

Petersburg, Michigan

Age 92, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at his home in Petersburg, Michigan with his loving family by his side. He was born November 4, 1925 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Lloyd and Cleopatra (Blackmer) Richards. On August 11, 1945 he married Eileen Lathers and she survives.
Jack served honorably during WWII with the United States Navy. He was owner and operator of Richards Motor Sales and Richards Towing. “Mr. Jack”, as he was known by his fellow bikers, was one of the founding brothers of The Milan Road Angels, which began in 1965.
He was affiliated with AMA since 1968. Jack was also a member of the Ypsilanti Moose and Ypsilanti Eagles. He moved from the Ypsilanti Area to Petersburg nine years ago.
Survivors include his three children, Keith Richards, Janice Richards (William Hogan), and Ronald Richards, nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, three brothers, Barney (Ruth) Richards, Gene Paul, and Bob (Dorothy) Richards, sister, Sandra (Michael) Armstrong, sister-in-law, Wanda Richards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lloyd L. Richards Jr. and Guy G. Richards, two sisters, Barbara Linblad and Nancy Grow, and daughter-in-law, Madonna Richards.
Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Saturday, March 17th from 12:00 noon until time of memorial service at 1:00pm. Contributions may be made to the family.
