Dundee Female Athlete of the Month: Jaclyn Swiderski

By Janet Buccirosso

The July Female Athlete of the Month, Jaclyn Swiderski, or Swiddy to her friends, has just graduated from Dundee High School. The seventeen year old has been participating on the Track and Field team for the Dundee Vikings during her senior year. She enjoyed participating because she states that “it is competitive and builds great work ethic and morals.” Track and field coach Nancy Scharboneau had this to say about Jaclyn; “She is the true embodiment of sportsmanship”. In addition to track and field, Jaclyn also competed on the Cross Country team. Her favorite team above all others is the Dundee Vikings.
Jaclyn’s favorite subject in school was “anything relating to science.” She says that “there is so much unknown and so much more to learn it is fascinating”. She carries a 3.8 GPA and was a participant in SPLT and Club Interact.
Jaclyn lives with her mom, Rachel Swiderski, and has two brothers, Tyler and Casey. She and her mother have pets, including a dog named Stella, three fish, a cat, a bunny named Pancake, and a late hedgehog.
Future plans for Jaclyn include attending Western Washington University where she will be pursuing studies in Behavioral Neuroscience and the pre vet program. She plans to continue running track and cross country while attending college.
