We at the Milan Eagle hope all in our community are doing well during this crisis. We will all get through this together. In order to keep people safe and distanced we did not produce a Milan Eagle newspaper for April. Further months have not been determined as we want to adhere to state guidelines and protect the community. Obituary: J. Colin Hamberg, 90

J. Colin Hamberg, 90

J. Colin Hamberg passed away peacefully on June 1st, surrounded by his family at his summer home in Port Sheldon, Michigan. 

Born in Grand Rapids on February 6, 1928 to Catherine Ruth Morrissey Hamberg and Lawrence Roger Hamberg, Colin was raised in Ann Arbor with his two brothers Lawrence and David. He attended University High School, Eastern Michigan University, and the University of Michigan. Colin spent his professional career as an engineer at Ford Motor Company. 

Colin married Harriet Ailsa Herrman of Nyssa, Oregon in 1952. They raised their five children in Milan. He was preceded in death by Harriet in 1999.

Colin is survived by his children Jeanne & Gregory Slenk of Holland, Michigan; Terri & Richard Riemenschneider of West Olive, Michigan; Ruth Hamberg & Lee Erickson of Orlando, Florida; John & Mary Hamberg of West Olive, Michigan; and Julie Hamberg of Charlottesville, Virginia.
