Trey McCormack, a senior at MHS, was born February 17, 2001. He resides in Ypsilanti. His sister went to school in Milan so that seemed the best option for him as well. Completing South Arbor Charter Academy, he started attending Milan schools in the 8th. grade.
Trey plays football and runs track. He got interested in football in the 3rd grade and he played for Washtenaw Junior football Maize. He took a break until 7th grade year and he played for Washtenaw Junior Football Blue. Trey said, “Football started out as just doing it to say I play football but as I got older I understood football more and liked hitting other people and being part of a team.” He plays right end and defensive end/linebacker for Milan and he’s senior captain. “We are looking very good this year and we just won our past game. Coach Hoskins is a very good coach and dedicates himself to the program a lot”, said Trey. He has been running track since he’s been in high school.
Trey’s favorite class is probably world history. In addition to sports Trey is part of the peer mediation class and the S.N.A.P. program which is about connecting peers with special education students. He’s considering going multiple ways after high school but right now he’s thinking of becoming an electrician.
Referring to Trey and the football team this year, Coach Jesse Hoskins said: “Trey is a young man who has built himself into a captain and starter on our team through dedication and hard work.
We have high expectations for the 2018 season. The key to our success this year will be based on our willingness to be accountable and our ability to be mentally tough. Football is a grind. Hopefully we will learn to prepare properly and focus through rough situations.”
