All out war!!!

By Milan Rotary Club

Cupcake Wars 2018 showcased the talents and tasty treats of four local bakers.  The fundraising event, organized by The Milan Rotary Club, took place on #GivingTuesday at the American Legion.  Proceeds from the event support the club’s annual Christmas Basket program. The Christmas Basket program provides much needed non-perishables, household, and personal hygiene items to deserving families in the Milan school District.  This year the club will distribute packages to 110+ families provided by Aid in Milan.
Cupcake Wars pitted four local bakers against each other in three different categories; best tasting, best decorated, and best presentation.  The four bakers were Heather Finch (, Jody Stubblefield, Kait Jones, and Michelle Nie.  The bakers arrived with mini cupcakes decorated and ready for tasting and voting. The crowd looked on as the bakers decorated 36 full size cupcakes and assembled their presentations while racing the 45 minute time limit.  Voting wrapped up at 6:30 p.m. for all three categories.  Taking home the hardware was Jody Stubblefield for best tasting, Kait Jones for best decorated, and Michelle Nie for best presentation.
The Milan Rotary Club would like to extend a special thanks to American Legion Post 268 for providing the Cupcake Wars venue, the four bakers for giving generously of their time and talents, the club’s social hour committee for organizing the event, and especially the 125+ community members in attendance that made the event a huge success.
