Ariana Cheatham was born in Ann Arbor Michigan on December 18th at the U of M hospital. She started attending kindergarten at the age of five in Milan school district. She is a junior at MHS. She said her mom raised her and she’s very thankful for everything that she has done, pushing her and making her better. She’s thankful for her grandma and grandpa being by her side as well throughout everything.
Ariana started bowling when she was 6 years old and ever since she has been hooked. Her mom wanted her to get into the sport of bowling and she instantly fell in love with it.
Ariana participates in bowling and softball. In softball she plays the outfield.  She’s been playing softball since she was 6 also. She was the very first freshman to go to states in Milan history and ever since then she’s felt so good about bowling and what she’s been doing. It’s something she’s very proud of and both of her coaches Brittannie and Dawn have been by her side through everything. She said, “they’ve helped me grow up to be the bowler that I am today. Having a big influence on everything with bowling, they’re so supportive and they’re amazing coaches.”
Ariana has a 3.810 GPA and she’s involved in the Diversity and Lifesavers clubs at MHS. Looking toward a future career, she’d like to become a teacher.
Coach Dawn said, “I have watched Ari bowl for quite a few years. I met her when she and my son bowled at Colonial Lanes on the Saturday morning youth league about 8 years ago. She has grown to be a beautiful young lady who has made a name for herself as a force to reckon with on the lanes. She was Milan’s youngest state qualifier as only a freshman. She competes in as many tournaments as she can and usually does very well. She was named Capt. last year of the high school team and was very good at boosting her teammates up when they needed.”
