The Milan varsity basketball team lost Friday’s (Jan. 25, 2019) home conference game against Grosse Ile by a score of 59-34.
“We got off to a slow start, GI 13 Milan 4 after the 1st quarter. We were able to score 11 points in the 2nd quarter and were down 28-15 at halftime. A slow 3rd quarter put us in a hole that we were never able to overcome. The kids played a hard and spirited 4th quarter but unfortunately came up on the losing end. Kyle Carey (#3) led us with 9 points, Jonathon Jackson (#24) had 8 and Chris Beck (#45) 7,” Varsity Head Coach Chris Pope.

FEB. 2: Milan 55 Monroe Jefferson 42
Milan got off to a good start with scoring 11 in the 1st quarter. Played well in the 2nd quarter to take a 30-18 halftime lead. Another slow 3rd quarter let Jefferson back end, but Milan was able to score 18 in the last quarter to secure the win. Jonathan Jackson lead in scoring with 20, Kyle Carey had 11 and Connor Hynds had 8.
