The Milan Area Historical Society is excited to bring artist Shayne Davidson to Milan to give a program on 17 Civil War soldiers.
Shayne Davidson is a retired medical illustrator based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Civil War Soldiers project came about after a friend shared with her the photos from a tiny album that belonged to her great grandfather. The project gave Shayne the chance to combine her passion for genealogy with her skills in drawing and her love of history. The project has been traveling to various Civil War-related venues where she hopes that it will increase public awareness and appreciation of the role African Americans played in the Civil War and the hardships they faced before, during and after the war.  Please join us upstairs in the Milan Old Fire Barn on March 20 at 7:00 p.m. for Ms. Davidson’s program.  The event is free and open to the public.
