The Milan Youth Council is again sponsoring an award for the youth of our community who have helped make a positive difference in the community.  No Deed is too small!
We wish to recognize all of Milan’s Magnificent Youth and their positive effort.  Nominated youth will be honored at an award ceremony.
Please fill out an application for your youth of choice and return it to Milan City Hall by May 3.  Applications can be obtained at city hall or print one from their Facebook page; Milan Youth Council.
Criteria for Nominees:
Attend Milan Area Schools or live in the 48160 zip code.
Must be in grades K-8 or equivalent.
Demonstrate some kind of positive act (shoveling walks, watching pets, brightening your day, carrying your groceries, taking out your trash, etc., e.g. anything that makes them helpful to you and a good citizen of the community.
Honoring other youths in the community with the annual Milan Magnificent Youth recognition ceremony is only one of many things the council engages in.
The youth council was formed to learn the structure of local government and members donate 2 hours each month to community service by volunteering.  Their meetings are open to the public and they meet the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at city hall.  New members are welcome.
This year’s newest members are John Buggy and Beth Frait.  Approved for membership at the March meeting was Fenrik Goerlitz.
