Former 2015 graduate of Milan High School, Marley Tucker, celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with her great grandfather, Elwood Tucker a World War II veteran, at the Ann Arbor Veterans Healthcare System.
Tucker served in the U.S. Army
and came home after VE-Day,
Marley said.
Marley, who has been away at Ferris State University for the past four years, said she missed visiting with her grandpa, who is a resident in the Community Living Center for short term rehabilitation care at the facility.
She said, “Though I miss my great-grandpa something terrible when I’m away at university, but knowing he’s safe and being taken care of by nurses and my parents gives me so much comfort and relief.”
To make the celebration even more special, Gary Buckley a veteran volunteer at the hospital, supplied them with green hats and took their picture.
Marley said, “Here’s to another year of luck for the Tucker family.”
