Isaac Keith Jackson, Jr., a senior, graduated from Milan High School June 2, 2019. Isaac was born in Detroit, Michigan. His family moved to Belleville in 2004 and he started attending Milan schools as a freshman. His parents have always pushed him to achieve academic and athletic success. His mom always said “academics come first” and his dad always encouraged him to be the best in whatever sport he played.  “I have two sisters, Darian and Aubrey who have always been a great support system for me. I have always had someone to look up to in my older sister Darian and I always strive to set a good example for my younger sister, Aubrey. Darian will be a senior at Michigan State University and Aubrey just finished her freshman year at Milan”, said Isaac.
Isaac became interested in sports at seven years old when he started playing soccer.  He said, “my dad had the biggest influence in what sport I wanted to play. We would sit and watch English Premier League games together and it made me want to play the sport.”
At Milan Isaac played soccer, basketball and ran track.  He played soccer at the Varsity level all four years as a Forward. He ran track at the Varsity level for three years. He played Basketball for four years in the forward position, starting out on the freshman team, then JV his Sophomore year and on the Varsity team in his Junior and Senior years.  Some of the awards he received include Most Valuable Offensive Player on the Soccer team, Mr. Defense in Basketball and the Captain’s award for the Varsity track team. Isaac said, “I am really honored to have received the Derwood D. Laskey Memorial Trophy during the Senior Night Awards Ceremony as the Male Athlete of the Year.  I was proud to serve as Captain of the Soccer, Basketball and Track teams this year. I have enjoyed all the coaches who I have had at Milan High School. They have taught me about leadership, working hard, having a positive attitude and learning to be a coachable player. Being part of the soccer team has been one of the best experiences I have had in high school.  Because I was a newcomer to Milan being a part of the team helped me meet new people and join a family that I would not have been able to be a part of if I did not play this sport. Sports have helped me make many friends at Milan and helped shape me into the person I am today.”
Isaac is a member of the National Honor Society at Milan High School.   His favorite subject is Math, specifically Algebra.  He graduated Cum Laude and received the Business Award from Mr. Davis for achievement in Accounting. He will be attending Alma College to major in Accounting and continue playing Soccer for the Scots.
